The function of the OCI Generator is twofold: 1) to allow the designer to interactively select the signals within his design that he wishes to connect as inputs to the FPGAView Xilinx OCI core. 2) to generate HDL source code that augments the designer's HDL source with additional HDL necessary to instantiate the FPGAView Xilinx OCI core block and connect it to the designer's selected input and administrative signals. Once the FPGAView Xilinx OCI core has been incorporated into a design, a companion software package, FPGAView, is used to interact with the OCI. ============== Installation ============== FS2 software is supplied on a CDROM or via the Internet. To install the software, insert the CDROM and run the ocigen-fv-xilinx-.exe program found in the root directory on the CDROM (or downloaded). Software updates are supplied electronically via the FS2 website to licensed users. To install an update, download the appropriate EXE file then execute it. Before using the OCI Generator software, please ensure that FPGAView is installed on the same PC as OCI Generator, that you have obtained a valid license key for FPGAView, and that you have installed the FPGAView license key. ===================== Starting the software ===================== The OCI Generator is launched from the Start menu: Start > Programs > FS2 > OCI Generator for FPGAView Xilinx ============== Change history ============== Changes in 1.0.0.7 ------------------ - OCI change to address synthesis problems associated with certain instantiation parameter values.
